چکیده

In order to calculate the equivalent torsional-warping stiffness of Reinforced Concrete (RC) cores that have thin-walled open cross-section, a new analytical methodology, which combines Vlasov torsion theory with Bernoulli bending theory, is presented herein. As basis calculations, we use principal elastic reference system core from this consider known. Furthermore, start point core's exact sectorial coordinates, as well as, warping moment inertia are all known, also. Moreover, two above-mentioned theories (Vlasov and Bernoulli) together combining in end, has resulted. This very useful right simulation building consists frames, walls, cores. The present methodology via special numerical cases RC for illustrative purposes. article gives documented solution proposes an ideal-equivalent column be located on center core. must provided diagonal, lateral-stiffness matrix represents properties real thus proposed. Finally, check reliability results various analysis software, proposed procedure can used benchmark method

Torsion of Restrained Thin-walled Bars of Open Constant Bisymmetric Cross-section

Abstract: Elastic and geometric stiffness matrices were derived using Castigliano’s first theorem, for the case of torsion of restrained thin-walled bars of open constant bisymmetric crosssection. Functions which describe the angles of torsion were adopted from the solutions of the differential equation for restrained torsion. The exact solutions were simplified by expanding them in a power ser...

Analysis of Thin-Walled Structures Using Torsional-Bending Elements

In this paper a new element for analysis of thin-walled structures is presented, and the effects of secondary shear stresses on longitudinal displacements are examined. Since the Interpolation Functions are based on non-uniform torsional differential equations, the analysis of stiffness matrix is facilitated. Therefore, its ability to produce accurate results with the least number of elements i...

Thin-walled beams: the case of the rectangular cross-section

In this paper we present an asymptotic analysis of the three-dimensional problem for a thin linearly elastic cantilever Ωε = ωε × (0, l) with rectangular cross-section ωε of sides ε and ε 2, as ε goes to zero. Under suitable assumptions on the given loads, we show that the threedimensional problem converges in a variational sense to the classical one-dimensional model for extension, flexure and...
